TL;DR
Oddstuff is a versatile productivity toolkit that marries design excellence with practical utility. Created as a product line by Oddbuds, this project showcased our ability to take calculated risks, collaborate with industry experts, and make an impact in both corporate and community spaces.

Turning a Simple Idea into a Multifaceted Productivity Solution
With mobile distractions at an all-time high, the Oddbuds team envisioned Oddstuff to tackle productivity challenges head-on. The toolkit was not just a collection of stationery but a thoughtfully curated experience that combined user feedback, innovative design, and high-quality materials.
From Sketches to Reality: How We Designed for Focus
We began by studying existing productivity tools, noting gaps in usability and functionality. Through iterative testing with users, we refined page layouts for planners and journals to ensure seamless navigation and flexibility. Before committing to large-scale production, we created prototypes to gather real-world insights from users, enabling us to address potential pain points early in the process.
Crafting Excellence Through Collaboration
To deliver a premium product, we worked closely with printing experts to select materials that were both durable and elegant. Liaising with printers wasn’t just about aesthetics; it involved understanding technical nuances to ensure high-quality output. For example, perfect binding ensured durability for our journals, while distinct cover designs made the pocket journals easy to identify without opening them.
The Productivity Toolkit: A Gifting Solution That Resonated
At the core of Oddstuff was the Productivity Toolkit, a curated box of stationery items designed for personal and corporate gifting. Here’s what it included:
The Planner
Designed with productivity techniques like habit tracking, time-blocking layouts, and reflection prompts, this undated planner offers users the flexibility to start anytime and organize their daily, weekly, and monthly goals. The planner’s layout was carefully tested with users to ensure it balanced structure with personalization.
Journals for Every Occasion
Combining the minimalist appeal of the "Note to Self" A5 journal with the portability of A6 pocket journals, this set caters to diverse needs. The A5 journal serves as a versatile space for reflections and notes, while the pocket journals—available in ruled, dot grid, and plain formats—are designed for quick, on-the-go use. Each journal is saddle-stitched with 96 pages, and their distinct, format-indicating covers ensure users can easily identify the right tool for their task.
Quote Cards
Measuring 80 x 120 mm, these cards quickly became a bestseller. Sold in packs of 50, they offer a unique way to record meaningful quotes, ideas, or phrases, serving as an inspiration archive for readers, thinkers, and creatives.
To-Do and Brain Dump Pads
This duo of tear-off notepads includes a “Jot It Down” pad for daily task lists and a “Brain Dump” pad for capturing fleeting thoughts or distractions during focused work sessions. Both pads are designed to complement productivity techniques like the Pomodoro method.
Wrapping Sheets
Introduced during the holiday season, these limited-edition retro-themed wrapping sheets added a festive touch to the toolkit, making it an ideal gifting option. Their vibrant and groovy patterns were a hit at Bangalore’s Soul Sante market.
Marketing and Selling: Beyond Online and Flea Markets
We diversified our sales strategy to reach different audiences. Oddstuff products were sold:
Online Platforms
Through e-commerce platforms and social media promotions. We sold most of our products through Amazon, Swiggy Minis, and our firm website.
Maker Markets
In-person sales at popular events like Soul Sante, where we interacted directly with customers to understand their preferences and gather feedback.
Corporate Partnerships
Large-scale orders for firms in Bangalore, customized with their branding, turned Oddstuff into a go-to corporate gifting option. This was our largest form of revenue.
